being comfortable with procrastination

when we tell ourselves "we'll do it tomorrow" or "it can wait for another day," we create a temporary sense of comfort that constantly needs to be fulfilled each and every growing day. if you kept pressing snooze on your alarm clock, then you'd never wake up, so why do we do it when it comes to the things we need to do? the reality is we are conscious enough to know our responsibility, just incapable of acting. i struggle with procrastination a lot, and it's not because i want to of course, it's just the feeling and pleasure that comes with pushing it to the side creates a false sense of hope for me that, i think i have it all figured out, but if i can push this back for another day it'll allow me to come to my senses that "today is the day". it'll never be the day with this mindset, so.... what do you do?

  • plan out and strategize. you figured out that you need to get this thing done, now how are you going to go about it? are you going to break this task down into segments, are you gonna raw it, and just do it all in one sitting? what is the best approach for you, and which is most rewarding?
  • be comfortable with being uncomfortable you can't sit waiting for the right moment that "now is the time" to start or finish something, to be proficient, you must learn to do work in settings of strain and uneasiness. good things don't come easy; they never come easy. if you want to get this done you mustn't wait, or else you'll fall down the spiral.
  • ask for help it's ok to need help every know and then, no one goes through life without needing it. swallow your pride, fix your ego and reach out; you'll be thankful you did!

as always, stay whimsical, 𖦹°
